An Unlikely Guest

Madotkata, the lion, was the king of the forest, served by three loyal-looking advisors: a crow, a jackal, and a leopard. One day, they found a camel named Kirathanaka who had lost his way. The lion, feeling generous, granted the camel protection and welcomed him into the pride. For a long time, they lived in peace, and the camel felt safe under the King's shadow.

The Hunger Plot

One day, the lion was badly injured in a fight with an elephant and could no longer hunt. As the days passed, the lion and his advisors grew weak from hunger. The crow, jackal, and leopard hatched a wicked plan to trick the lion into eating the camel. They knew the lion had promised protection, so they decided to make the camel offer himself up voluntarily.

The False Sacrifice

The advisors approached the lion. One by one, the crow, the jackal, and the leopard offered their own bodies to the King to satisfy his hunger. Knowing they were too small or foul-tasting, they expected the lion to refuse. Moved by their 'loyalty,' the innocent camel also stepped forward, saying, 'Your Majesty, please eat me instead!' The lion was hungry and accepted the offer. He pounced on the camel and killed it.
