Listen to the Story
The story of a determined princess who took over the reins of her own life, not letting others dictate her decisions. Read on to know how.

The Princess of Dwarka
Subhadra was the younger sister of the famous Lord Krishna and his brother Balarama. She grew up in the beautiful golden city of Dwarka, surrounded by family who loved her very much. While Krishna thought the brave archer Arjuna was the perfect match for her, Balarama had a different plan. Balarama wanted her to marry a powerful prince named Duryodhana and even started making big wedding arrangements without telling anyone!

Subhadra's Daring Escape
Krishna knew that Subhadra didn't want to marry the prince Balarama had chosen; she had already lost her heart to Arjuna. To avoid a big argument between the brothers, Krishna whispered a secret plan to Arjuna. He told him to take Subhadra away on a chariot during a festival so they could be together. When Balarama found out, he was very angry and grabbed his weapons to stop them, but Krishna told him to look closer at the chariot.

The Brave Charioteer
When Balarama looked, he saw something that surprised him. Arjuna wasn't the one driving — Subhadra was holding the reins! She was skillfully guiding the horses and leading the way herself. This showed Balarama that Subhadra wasn't being taken away against her will; she was a courageous woman making her own choice. Seeing how brave and happy his sister was, Balarama’s anger melted away, and he gave the couple his blessing for their long journey ahead.

What We Learn
At first, Balarama only thought about what he wanted for his sister. But once he saw how happy and determined she was, he changed his mind. The moral here is that it’s important to respect how others feel, even if you have a different idea of what is best for them.
