Listen to the Story
Have you ever had a friend who felt more like a brother? Long ago, in a peaceful school called a Gurukul, two young boys named Krishna and Sudama became inseparable. They studied together, gathered wood for their teacher, and shared every secret. Even though Krishna was a prince and Sudama came from a humble family, their hearts were perfectly matched.

The Long Path to Dwarka
Many years passed. Krishna became the mighty King of Dwarka, living in a golden palace. Meanwhile, Sudama lived a very simple, quiet life in a small village. He was very poor and often didn't have enough food for his family. One day, Sudama’s wife gently suggested, 'Your old friend Krishna is a King now. Why don't you visit him? He might be able to help us.' Sudama didn't want to ask for money, but he desperately wanted to see his dear friend again. All he had to give as a gift was a small handful of poha (pounded rice) tied in a torn piece of cloth. With this humble gift and a heart full of memories, he began the long walk to the city of gold.

The Royal Welcome
When Sudama reached the gates of the massive palace, the guards were confused. 'This poor man claims to be the King's best friend?' they whispered. But the moment Krishna heard Sudama’s name, he didn't walk—he ran! Krishna hugged Sudama tightly, tears of joy in his eyes. He led Sudama to his throne, washed his tired feet with cool water, and treated him like the most important guest in the world. Krishna noticed the little bundle Sudama was hiding. 'What did you bring for me?' he asked playfully. Sudama was shy, but Krishna grabbed the poha and ate it with delight. To Krishna, those simple grains of rice were more delicious than any royal feast because they were given with pure love.

The Miracle at Home
Sudama stayed for a few days, enjoying the company of his friend. However, he was so happy just being with Krishna that he completely forgot to ask for any help! When it was time to leave, he started the long walk back home, feeling peaceful but wondering how he would tell his wife he returned empty-handed. But as he approached his village, he couldn't find his old, broken hut. In its place stood a magnificent mansion filled with food, beautiful clothes, and jewels! Krishna had known what Sudama needed without Sudama ever saying a word. By accepting the humble gift of rice, the King of Dwarka had showered his friend with endless blessings.

What We Learn
True friendship doesn't care about who is rich or who is poor. It only cares about the love in your heart. When you give something with a pure soul, even the smallest gift becomes a treasure.
