One day, in the peaceful village of Gokul, Krishna and his brother Balarama were playing with their friends when a royal messenger arrived. He bowed and said, “Prince Krishna, King Kansa invites you to Mathura for a grand festival and a wrestling competition!”

The villagers were worried. Everyone knew that Kansa was a cruel king who had tried many times to harm Krishna. Nanda Baba, Krishna’s foster father, said, “My son, this sounds like a trick.”

Krishna smiled and replied, “Do not worry, Baba. It is time for me to put an end to Kansa’s evil rule.”

And so, Krishna and Balarama set out for Mathura, accompanied by Akrura, a nobleman who secretly hoped for Kansa’s defeat. As they crossed the river Yamuna, Akrura saw Krishna’s divine form in the water—he knew the prophecy would soon come true.

As soon as Krishna and Balarama reached Mathura, Kansa had already planned ways to stop them. First, he sent a mighty elephant, Kuvalayapeeda, to block the entrance. The elephant charged at Krishna, but with one swift move, Krishna grabbed its trunk, lifted it high, and defeated it.

Next, Krishna and Balarama entered the wrestling arena, where Kansa’s strongest wrestlers, Chanura and Mushtika, awaited them. The crowd gasped. “How can these young boys fight such powerful warriors?” they whispered.

But the battle began, and in no time, Krishna and Balarama defeated the wrestlers with their strength and skill. The people of Mathura cheered!

Kansa was furious. He stood from his throne and shouted, “Guards! Capture these boys at once!” But before the guards could move, Krishna leaped onto the royal stage. He grabbed Kansa by the arm, pulled him down, and threw him to the ground. With one mighty strike, Krishna ended Kansa’s evil reign.

The people of Mathura rejoiced! Flowers rained from the sky as they cheered, “Victory to Krishna! Our savior has come!”

Krishna freed his real parents, Devaki and Vasudeva, from the prison where Kansa had kept them for years. He placed Kansa’s noble father, King Ugrasena, back on the throne to rule wisely. With Kansa's defeat, peace returned to Mathura.
