Join Arjuna on the battlefield as Lord Krishna teaches him big life lessons about being brave, doing the right thing, and listening to your heart in this story from the Mahabharata

The Great Battle and the Brave Archer
A long, long time ago, in the land of Kurukshetra, two groups of cousins, the Pandavas and the Kauravas, were about to fight a mighty war. It wasn’t just any war—it was a war between good and bad, right and wrong.
Among the Pandavas was the brave prince Arjuna, the best archer in all of India. He was strong, smart, and kind. He had a magical best friend too - Lord Krishna, who was not just his charioteer, but also a wise and powerful god in disguise!
On the day of the battle, as Arjuna stood in his chariot, he looked across the battlefield and saw his uncles, cousins, and teachers on the other side. His hands began to shake, and his heart felt heavy.
"Krishna," he said, "how can I fight the people I love? I don’t want to hurt them. I don’t want this war. What is the right thing to do?"
And then, something amazing happened.

The Word of God — The Bhagavad Gita
Everyone suddenly froze in their place except Krishna and Arjuna. Time had halted. Krishna rose in size to assume his real divine form as Lord Vishnu.
Looking down at Arjuna, who now looked tiny in comparison, Krishna smiled gently. He said, “Let me tell you the truth about life, duty, and the soul.”
Right there, in the middle of the battlefield, Krishna shared the Bhagavad Gita, which means "The Song of God." It was not a song with music, but a song full of wisdom.
Krishna gave Arjuna many teachings. Some of them were:
"You are not just this body. You are a soul, and the soul never dies."
"Your duty is to do the right thing, without worrying about winning or losing."
"Be brave. Fight for truth. Be kind. And always remember me."
Arjuna listened with wide eyes. He understood that doing his duty as a warrior was not about anger or hatred—it was about standing up for justice and protecting goodness.
“Krishna,” Arjuna said, feeling strong again, “you have opened my eyes. I will do what is right.”
Krishna smiled. “That is the path of a true hero.”

The Warrior with a Peaceful Heart
With a calm mind and a brave heart, Arjuna picked up his bow again. He was no longer scared—because he now understood that life is a journey of the soul, and every action should be done with honesty and love.
His guilt was over. He fought to protect peace, truth, and goodness - just like Krishna had taught him.
After the battle, Arjuna continued to follow Krishna’s teachings for the rest of his life. He learned to stay calm in happy times and strong in hard times.
And the wisdom of the Bhagavad Gita was remembered by people forever. Even today, kids and grown-ups all around the world read the Bhagavad Gita to understand how to be kind, brave, and wise - just like Arjuna.
